Detroit Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron will be at St. Vincent de Paul’s Matchan Nutrition Center in Pontiac on March 4th (the day before Ash Wednesday) from noon to 1 pm to serve food to the poor and start the season of Lent by providing a witness of caring and doing good deeds.

The mission of the St. Vincent de Paul Matchan Nutrition Center is to serve hot, well-balanced nutritious meals to our neighbors in need, and to provide other life changing social services leading to self-sufficiency.  For over 125 years, St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) has provided vital services in Southeast Michigan, including food, shelter, medical and dental care, utility assistance, disaster relief and emergency support. Additionally, SVdP operates 12 thrift stores throughout the community and provides outreach programs to the youth and elderly including Camp Ozanam and the Matchan Nutrition Center.  SVdP assists nearly 200,000 households annually.
