History of Camp Ozaman

Since 1923 Camp Ozanam and Camp Stapleton have been owned and operated by The Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Detroit. Thanks to our volunteers and donor support, our camping program has allowed over 102,000 disadvantaged youngsters the opportunity to enjoy a fully funded camping experience along the shores of Lake Huron.

To celebrate our 90th anniversary we commissioned a new history of our camps. A copy of this history can be found Here: Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3
